- Dennis graduated from Point Park College in Pittsburgh with a BA in journalism.
- After he graduated, Dennis worked several jobs. In a dairy, in a grocery store, selling storm windows and driving a delivery truck to name a few.
- His start in the comedy business came on night as he watched a boring act at a local club. He convinced the owner to let him take the stage on slow nights. The rest, as they say, is history.
- Dennis was discovered by Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels when he was performing at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.
- He left SNL after six seasons to start his own talk show, which network television canceled after six months.
- After his show was canceled, Dennis went back to the stand-up circuit until HBO wanted to put his show in their line-up.
- Believe it or not, Dennis is quite the family man. His wife and his two children are the most important aspects of his life. When asked to finish this sentence, "Being powerful in Hollywood means...", Mr. Miller replied, "absolutely nothing. What means something is having a wife and kids, and if you can keep that together, that really means something." Therefore, he named his production company Happy Family Productions.
